Liris Crosse Interivew
Most you will probably recognize Liris Crosse aka Black Barbie from playing the dancer in the Indian costume in the movie “The Best Man”, Jay-Z’s Do It Again video in the gold dress, Lloyd Banks’ “On Fire” video coming out the elevator in the green dress or countless magazine layouts in Essence, Black Men, XXL, The Source and many more. If not we recently had a chance to sit down with her and catch up.

How did you get into modeling and was it always the career you wanted?
Went to a models convention called MSA then just moved to NY and went to Wilhelmina Models on an appointment. They saw me and wanted to sign me that day. I’ve dreamed about modeling and acting since I was a little girl.
Alot of your fans want to know how you feel about posing nude?
Playboy would have to empty their bank account or its cool if its art.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling?
Running a model/management agency or a PR/marketing firm or producing.
Describe to us a typical day with LIRIS?
Wake up and cook breakfast, go online and submit myself for auditions, call my agent and check on appointments, mail off headshots, check my website, go through fan mail, take a nap…maybe go to an event in the evening to network or be seen!
What would people be shocked to find out about you? 
I like being alone at home a lot, I love to read and my parents are pastors.
Have you always been as comfortable with your body as it seems?
Yes, I have always been in tune and comfortable with my body.
What are your male groupies like? Any entertainers’ holla’n?
They show me loveeeeeeee! They send me pictures they draw of me, one guy is about to paint a mural of me, another guy has me spray painted in the hood of his car. I get jailhouse love letters and lots of poems and notes to me on myspace. My myspace address is: www.myspace.com/lirisc
Do you catch hate from other females?
Of course but hate is jealousy and it only makes you stronger. When most females meet me, they see that I’m very cool and down to earth. They are surprised, I don’t know why though.
WHAT I LOOK FOR…
In bed: Comfort, I just bought a new bed recently. It’s soft and feels like heaven, especially with my 1000 thread sheets.
In a gift: It’s the thought that you put into picking it out
In a date: Fun, great conversation and intrigue
In a man: physically attractive, thoughtfulness, intellect, gentleman qualities, easy to talk to, spontaneity
In a friend: love, honesty, something that I lack so we can help each other grow to be better people,

What turns you on mentally about somebody?
Someone who is very smart but not arrogant so we learn from each other, a person who keeps you guessing, someone who is genuine and creative, a man who thinks out the box.
You told me what turns you on mentally. What physical features get your juices flowing?
I like great lips, eyes, nice build, tall, smells good and a nice complexion

A man who loves God, loves me, is successful, giving, driven and thoughtful.
If you had to pick one tip to men about how to please a woman sexually, what would it be?
Downtown is the way to our love!
If you could teach men one thing about how women work, what would it be?

Updates on appearances, my personal journal in the Love Notes section, more new stuff added to my store for sale.
What is your life like away from your doing videos?
Pretty cool, I’m always trying to create other ways to showcase my talent and I also do a good share of print modeling as well.
What is the best modeling experience you have been involved in? 
Shooting a campaign in the desert of Morocco with famed photographer Walter Chin.
Do you feel stigmatized as just a video model?
No, actually a lot more people know me from my magazine work as well.
What projects should we be looking out for in 2007 from LIRIS?
Me hosting a TV show on a major network, the release of 2 films I shot called “Eye Jammy” and “He Who Finds A Wife”, I have my swimsuit calendar and DVD on sale right now at my website..
